A better smile, a better you!
Did you know that your smile is one of the first things people notice when they meet you? If you think about it, it makes sense. We spend a lot of time looking at people’s mouths! We use it to figure out what emotion they’re feeling! Smiling is good, frowning is bad, and that tight-lipped look means “uh oh, I better back off!”
If you’re embarrassed about your mouth because of dental issues, you may inadvertently be sending the wrong message to people by hiding your smile! Improving your overall dental hygiene can help have you smiling again and sending the right message.
Let that smile shine with these tips!
Brush, brush, brush.
We know that we should brush before we go to bed to get all the gunk off our teeth from the day. Most of us brush in the morning as well to freshen up horrible morning breath. You should also be brushing after each meal. If that’s not practical, aim for brushing at least once in the middle of the day. I love using Life Brand Rechargeable Toothbrush. It has a great oscillating head to really reach all those teeth and crevices for a bright, beautiful smile!
Don’t forget to floss!
Even though the Life Brand Rechargeable Toothbrush does a great job of getting to hard-to-reach spots, you still need to floss to really get in between those teeth. Besides, nothing ruins a smile quite like a big chunk of spinach stuck between your front teeth! I keep the floss right next to my tooth brush to remind me to use it every time I brush. I also keep Life Brand Dental Floss in my purse for those emergency spinach moments!
Swish away bad breath.
Even if your smile is bright and beautiful from all that brushing and flossing, there are times when you’re afraid to open your mouth because of bad breath. So many things can cause bad breath, from that garlic bread you just ate to the medicines you’re taking for allergies. Keep a big bottle of Life Brand Antibacterial Mouthwash next to your toothbrush and remember to use it daily to help combat bad breath. I also like to pour some into a travel bottle and tuck it in my bag. A quick swish after indulging in a rich, spicy meal gives me the confidence to smile wide in close quarters!
What about mints and gum?
Keeping a stash of sugar-free mints and gum is an easy short-term fix for bad breath. Gum is also great when you can’t brush, as it helps stimulate your mouth’s natural cleaning system- your saliva. It’s not an alternative to brushing though, so don’t think you can skip your nightly cleaning ritual just because you chomped on some gum during the day.
Improving your overall dental hygiene isn’t just good for boosting your confidence, it’s also good for your health! These tips always help me know I’m on the right track. I hope they help you too!
